ScreenlyyGoogle Play screenshot requirements
Google Play takes JPEG or 24-bit PNG screenshots with no transparency. Each side must be between 320 and 3,840 pixels, and the long side can't be more than twice the short one. You need at least two to publish, and can add up to eight per device type.
To be eligible for Play's promotional placements, an app needs at least four phone screenshots at 9:16 portrait (at least 1080 × 1920) or 16:9 landscape (at least 1920 × 1080). 1080 × 1920 is the usual choice.

Play uses screenshots in its recommendation formats only when they meet these minimums:

Real Android phones are taller than 9:16, around 20:9. A 9:16 screenshot with the phone standing inside it meets Play's rule and still shows your whole capture.
